Child Safety Tips For Parents
Hi! Yesterday's Ultimate Safety Secret was one of the things I enjoy best from my friend and child safety expert Joyce Jackson. Mental focus cannot be understated in importance in your child's ability to keep themselves safe.
If you want to teach your child mental focus faster, more effectively...today's safety tip from Joyce IS FOR YOU.
HERE IT IS:
Teach your child by talking to them in words they understand.
THEIR WORDS.
Communicate with them in their words and you'll teach them faster and better...anything, not just safety ideas.
If your child is young use lots of silly words.
If your child is a teen use some of their slang.
If your child is a toddler or infant…mimic their nonsense syllables! It’s never too early to build communication with your child and speak their language. It’s a foundation for safety that teaches your child to come to you whenever something happens to them…even if they don’t understand it...like an inappropriate gesture or a strange website or email...
BECAUSE THEY CAN TALK TO YOU AND YOU CAN TALK TO THEM.
Adults talk to children all day long. We have all seen the cartoons that show adults as nothing more than noisy
"Blah! Blah! Blah!" nonsense sounds around children.Talking WITH kids rather than talking to them works. It makes the learning process faster, easier and more effective, for the children.
It's the same with safety and learning about safety.
Talk to them in terms and words your child can use and understand.
This is **HOW** you relate to your kid in manner that gets right to them. Teaching your child in their OWN WORDS so they can understand IS POWERFUL and EFFECTIVE.
P.S. You can learn in depth how to do this from Joyce directly at Keeping Kids Safe Superstar Safety Club
